The current Digitalise your SME Call 2 helps qualifying SMEs invest in software, AI, cloud systems, cybersecurity, analytics and other digital solutions.
The scheme is aimed at substantial digitalisation investment, not small standalone purchases.
A 7% flat-rate contribution toward eligible indirect costs also applies within the scheme structure.
Up to 50% of qualifying eligible expenditure in Malta, and up to 60% in Gozo, subject to scheme rules and approval.
Advanced technology top-up. An additional 10 percentage-point aid intensity may apply on specific eligible items involving AI, cybersecurity, IoT, big data analysis, cloud computing or quantum technology, subject to scheme conditions and budget availability. A further 5 percentage-point top-up may apply where the applicant satisfies the scheme's Digital Intensity criteria. Neither top-up is guaranteed, and they apply to qualifying specific items rather than automatically to an entire project.
AI threshold. Call 2 also includes an additional AI-related threshold of up to €100,000 for eligible AI interventions, subject to the scheme conditions. This is separate from, and should not be confused with, the standard €120,000 grant ceiling.
Funding eligibility and approval are determined solely by the relevant government authority. Malta Digital does not guarantee grant approval. Eligible applicants are Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, subject to the scheme's eligibility and exclusion rules.

Digitalise your SME Call 2 is a Maltese government scheme that supports qualifying Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises investing in software, AI, cloud systems, cybersecurity, analytics and other digital solutions, subject to the scheme's eligibility and exclusion rules.
The standard aid intensity in Malta is up to 50% of qualifying eligible expenditure, with a minimum grant of €25,000 and a standard maximum grant of €120,000. Advanced technology top-ups may apply to specific eligible items, subject to scheme conditions and budget availability.
Gozo-based businesses can access a standard aid intensity of up to 60% of qualifying eligible expenditure, within the same €25,000 minimum and €120,000 standard maximum grant structure.
The scheme's minimum grant is €25,000. At the standard 50% aid intensity in Malta, that generally means at least €50,000 of approved eligible expenditure. In Gozo, at up to 60%, approximately €41,667 of approved eligible expenditure would be needed to reach the minimum grant.
A standalone small website does not meet the current Digitalise your SME minimum grant threshold. The scheme is aimed at substantial digitalisation investment. Fees relating to design, marketing and any other consultancy work are not eligible, so the website and marketing parts of a package are not covered by it. Funding depends on the approved expenditure.
CRM systems can potentially be eligible when they form part of an approved digital solution and meet the scheme's conditions, such as relating to your economic activity and having a productive purpose. Eligibility is confirmed by the funding authority during assessment.
Workflow and automation software can potentially be eligible where it forms part of an approved digital solution. As with all items, eligibility depends on how the expenditure is structured and approved within the Grant Agreement.

No. Fees relating to design, marketing and other consultancy work are explicitly excluded from this scheme. That includes Meta Ads management, Google Ads management, advertising spend, branding, SEO retainers, social media management and general consultancy fees.
