Keep going if…
The basics are right but results are slow.
Tracking works, the page is good, enquiries get quick replies, and the campaign is still early. Give it a fair test.
Facebook & Instagram ads · Troubleshooting
When Facebook ads stop bringing results, the cause is usually one of a few things: the wrong campaign objective, broken tracking, tired creative, a weak offer, a slow landing page or slow follow-up. Work through them in order, starting with tracking, before you touch the budget. Most fixes cost time, not money.

Running or performing?
First, separate two different problems. Ads that are not running need an account fix. Ads that run but bring nothing need a marketing fix.
The ad broke an advertising policy, or Meta thinks it did. Read the reason, fix the ad or request a review.
A failed card payment pauses delivery. Check the billing section of Ads Manager.
Check Account Quality in Meta Business Suite for warnings on the ad account, Page or your profile.
An ended schedule, a spending limit reached or a tiny budget can stop delivery.
Very narrow targeting in a small market like Malta can leave too few people to show the ad to.
Nine reasons
If the campaign is set to engagement or traffic, Meta finds people who click or like. For enquiries or sales, choose the leads or sales objective.
If the Pixel or Conversions API is missing or misfiring, Meta cannot learn who buys. Check Events Manager for recent events.
After launch or a big edit, Meta goes through a learning phase. Changing things every day keeps resetting it.
Stacking interests and small locations limits Meta’s room to find buyers. Broader targeting often works better with good creative.
In a small market, people see the same ad many times. When frequency climbs and results fall, it is time for new ads.
If people do not understand what you sell, why it is better, or what to do next, ads cannot fix it.
Slow pages, broken forms and confusing layouts on phones waste the clicks you paid for.
Enquiries that wait a day or two for a reply go cold. Speed matters as much as the ad.
A few days of data in a small audience tells you very little. Give a campaign a fair test before deciding.
How to diagnose
Open Events Manager. Make sure purchases, leads or bookings are being recorded today.
Click your own ad on a phone. Time the page. Fill in the form. See where it goes.
In Ads Manager, look at results by ad, placement, age and location. Find where the spend goes.
Fix the biggest problem first, then wait and measure before changing the next.
This order matters. There is no point testing new creative while tracking is broken, because you will not see the result.
Tracking problems
Tracking is the most common hidden problem, because everything can look fine on the surface.
Privacy settings on phones and browsers block some browser tracking. The Conversions API sends events from your website’s server as well, so fewer are lost.
If the campaign optimises for page views instead of purchases or leads, Meta finds people who view pages.
A new theme, a new booking tool or a checkout change can quietly remove the tracking code.
Two Pixels, or the same event sent twice, inflate results and mislead decisions.
In Ads Manager
Look at trends over a few weeks rather than single days. Daily numbers in a small market move a lot.
Quick fixes
None of these needs extra budget. Together they often make the difference between a campaign that wastes money and one that pays for itself.
Malta specifics
A small population means you reach the same people sooner. Plan new creative every few weeks.
Tourist seasons, festas, summer and the run-up to Christmas all change behaviour and competition.
Residents, tourists and people abroad planning a trip are different customers. Mixing them in one ad set blurs results.
Pause or continue
Keep going if…
Tracking works, the page is good, enquiries get quick replies, and the campaign is still early. Give it a fair test.
Pause if…
No tracked results after a fair test, or a known problem with the offer, page or follow-up. Fix it, then restart.
Pausing is not failure. Spending more on something broken is the expensive mistake.
Getting help
If you have checked tracking, the landing page and follow-up, and results are still poor, a fresh look helps. We review the offer, campaigns, tracking and landing page, then explain what we would change first.
Bring three things to that conversation: access to Ads Manager or screenshots of recent results, your landing page, and a rough idea of how many enquiries or sales came in. That is enough to find the main problem quickly.
If advertising is not the right next step, we’ll say so.
A few straight answers
Common causes are a rejected ad, a failed payment, an account restriction, an ended schedule or a very small audience. Check Ads Manager and Account Quality first.
Usually the landing page, the offer or the follow-up. Check the page on a phone, make the next step obvious and reply to enquiries quickly. Also confirm tracking records sales.
After a campaign launches or has a significant edit, Meta spends time learning who responds. Results can be unstable then. Avoid frequent big changes so it can settle.
Not until you know why they are not working. More budget usually spreads the same problem wider. Fix tracking, offer and landing page first.
Yes. We look at your offer, campaigns, tracking and landing page, then explain what we would change first. The initial review is at no charge.
