Small business website in Malta
What a small business website in Malta should include, what it costs and how to get one live fast.
Free tool · Website cost calculator
How much will your website cost? Answer five quick questions below and this calculator shows the starting price for the website you describe, based only on Malta Digital’s published packages: €990, €2,490 or €4,900, excluding VAT. You can add Malta’s 18% VAT, type in your own domain, hosting and tool costs to see the first-year total, and see which answers push the price up and why. It is an honest starting point, not a quote. Shops and custom systems are flagged instead of guessed, because their cost depends on details a calculator cannot know.

A website from Malta Digital starts from €990 excluding VAT for up to 5 pages with your own content, €2,490 when you need more pages or help with content, and €4,900 when the site must win enquiries with booking journeys, ad landing pages or lead tracking. Add 18% VAT and your own domain, hosting and tool costs for the first-year total.
The calculator
Start with the size of the site and who writes the content, because those two answers decide most of the price. Then tick what the website needs to do. If you already have quotes for your domain, hosting or a booking app, type them in to see your running costs next to the build price. If you leave them blank, the calculator leaves them out rather than guessing.
Tick what you need. The starting price updates straight away, and nothing you choose is sent anywhere.
This calculator needs JavaScript. Without it: up to 5 pages with your own content starts from €990, more pages or help with content from €2,490, booking journeys, ad landing pages or lead tracking from €4,900, all excluding VAT.
How it works
Each answer moves you up a package only when the work really changes. Five pages with your own text and photos is the Professional Website: we design and build it and set up the contact form, call and WhatsApp buttons, basic titles and search settings, analytics and hosting, with one round of changes. The first version is ready 24 to 48 hours after your content is ready.
More pages, or help planning and writing the content, needs a page plan built around your services. That is the Business Website, from €2,490, which also covers custom design, a search-friendly structure, analytics and conversion setup, and integrations agreed in the scope. When the website has to do part of the selling, with a booking or enquiry journey, landing pages for ads, lead tracking or a CRM connection, it becomes the Growth Website, from €4,900.

Two answers do not give a package price. An online shop depends on your products, payments and delivery, so we quote it after a short call. Deposits, staff calendars and client logins are a custom system, which starts from €7,500 excluding VAT, because it runs part of your business rather than just showing it.
The packages
The table lists what is in each package as published on our pricing page. Everything is a starting price excluding VAT, and the final price is confirmed in writing before any work starts. If a feature you need is not in the table, it is either part of a bigger package or quoted separately, and the calculator above tells you which.

What adds cost
More pages. A plumber in Mosta with one services page and a contact page needs far less planning than a clinic with a page for every treatment. More pages means more structure, more design and more text to place, so the jump from five pages is the most common reason a project moves to the Business Website.
Two languages. A site in English and Maltese, or English and Italian, has a second version of every page. Count each language when you answer the first question, because a 5-page site in two languages is really a 10-page site.
Content you do not have yet. Good text and photos are the slowest part of most website projects. If you can send your service list, prices, opening hours and real photos of your work, the build is quick. If you need help deciding what each page says, that planning is real work and it is part of the Business Website.
Features that do part of the selling. A booking request, a quote form that asks the right questions, or a landing page for every ad offer turns the website into a tool for getting customers. That needs testing, tracking and more design, which is why these sit in the Growth Website.
Payments and logins. As soon as people pay, log in or book against real staff calendars, the website needs rules, security and testing that a brochure site does not. That is when we talk about an online shop or a custom system instead.
Running costs
The build price is a one-off cost. Running costs repeat: the domain name every year, hosting every month or year, and any paid tools such as a booking app, email marketing or premium plugins. We quote domains, hosting subscriptions and paid tools separately because they depend on what your site needs, so the calculator only uses the prices you type in.

When you compare quotes, put each one into the same shape: the build price, then what you pay every year after. A cheap build on a platform with high monthly fees can cost more over three years than a better build with low running costs. Ask every provider who owns the domain and the hosting account, and what happens if you want to move.
Apply now with the answers you gave the calculator. We’ll reply with the package we’d recommend and a written scope with a fixed price, or message us on WhatsApp.
VAT
Our prices exclude VAT. Malta’s standard VAT rate is 18%, so a €990 website is €1,168.20 with VAT, a €2,490 website is €2,938.20 and a €4,900 website is €5,782. Tick the VAT box in the calculator to see your estimate with VAT added.
Whether that VAT is a real cost depends on how your business is registered. A business with a standard VAT registration can usually claim back VAT on business costs on its VAT return. A small undertaking registered under Article 11 does not charge VAT and cannot claim it back, so for them the price with VAT is the real cost. Your accountant can confirm which applies to you.
Proof
A furniture assembly and installation business came to us with no website, a Facebook page with an empty intro and 858 views in the previous 28 days. We built a mobile website made for quotes on WhatsApp, rebuilt their Facebook and Instagram, and ran Meta ads that open a WhatsApp chat or a phone call.
In the first 28 days, Facebook views went to 154.1K, and €346.75 of ad spend brought 395 WhatsApp taps, 10 phone calls and 1,158 page visits. The website was the place every one of those people landed, so it had to load fast on a phone and make the next step obvious.

Grants
Some Malta support schemes have helped businesses pay for websites and digital tools, but schemes open, close and change their rules, and most only refund costs that follow their conditions to the letter. Check the current scheme before you sign anything, and keep every quote, invoice and proof of payment. Our guide below explains what to look for.
How we do it
Apply with the answers you gave the calculator, or send us your current website on WhatsApp. We have a short call to understand what you sell and how customers reach you, then send a written scope with a fixed price, so you know what is included before any work starts.
We design and build, you review the first version, and we make the agreed changes before launch. If what you need is bigger than a website, such as a shop or a custom system, we tell you on the call rather than squeezing it into the wrong package.
A few straight answers

We set up analytics and hosting, but domain names, hosting subscriptions and paid tools are quoted separately. Type the prices you have into the calculator to see your first-year total.
The first version of a Professional Website is ready 24 to 48 hours after your content is ready. Bigger packages get a timeline in your proposal.
Online shops are quoted after a short call, because the price depends on your products, payments and delivery. The calculator flags a shop instead of guessing a number.
